As a wedding photographer based in Telluride, Colorado, I can say for sure that if you’re looking for a luxurious wedding venue with breathtaking mountain views, Telluride is the place to be.
Here are my personal favorite Telluride wedding venues for couples looking for those gorgeous mountain views!
At the top of the list is undoubtedly Telluride Ski Resort, the ultimate mountain setting for couples seeking an unforgettable destination experience.
The best part? Telluride Ski Resort is actually several mountainside wedding venues in one! Located on the resort are the following five ceremony and reception sites.
Ride the gondola to 10,551 feet above sea level, where Allred’s awaits. As Telluride’s most coveted dining experience, Allred’s is sure to impress even the choosiest foodies and connoisseurs on your guest list.
Even more impressive than the contemporary American food is the picture outside the restaurant’s massive windows. You and your guests will enjoy expansive views of the 13,000-foot peaks that frame Telluride to the north as well as the twinkling lights and rooftops of the historic town of Telluride 1,800 feet below.
The restaurant itself is not to be overlooked, either. With stone fireplaces, wood beams, and an arched foyer and hallways, Allred’s feels like an old European wine cellar. Choose from a private dining room for up to 30 guests, or buy out the facility to accommodate up to 130 people.
But what about before the reception? Ride the gondola partway to the San Sophia Overlook, perched right on the ski run near the top of Lift 7, where you’ll enjoy one of the most striking ceremony sites in all of Colorado.
Follow the short nature path from the gondola station to the natural grass amphitheater, where up to 250 guests can watch you exchange vows atop the wooden deck on the ridge.
Overlooking the town of Telluride and surrounded by magnificent San Juan mountain peaks and towering spruce trees, the San Sophia Overlook provides a truly spectacular backdrop for your Colorado mountain wedding.

After your “I dos,” celebrate your new marriage with a fun cocktail hour and reception at Gorrono Ranch. Perched on the side of a mountain with beautiful views of Mt. Wilson (commonly known as “the Coors Mountain”), this circa-1800s, Western-style ski lodge features multi-level decks that were just made for mingling.
Inside the main lodge, two large dining rooms with crackling stone fireplaces accommodate up to 200 guests. Enjoy virtually any cuisine you’re craving, from a rustic barbecue to a multi-course menu, before hitting the dance floor (or the s’mores pit!).
Gorrono Ranch also makes a lovely ceremony site or even a late-night lounging spot inside the two small, historic cabins (complete with scotch and bourbon tastings). The versatility of this Telluride wedding venue makes it ideal for whatever style and activities you’re looking for.

This spectacular venue has everything you could ever need for a mountain top ceremony venue and reception. The insane views of Palmyra peak and surrounding mountains speak for themselves and they encapsulate your venue site.
Along side of the ceremony site is the renowned Bon Vivant restaurant that can accommodate up to 150 guests. Enjoy custom cocktails and large charcuterie board and take in the views.
Telluride outside is a wonderfully rustic and fun mode of transport as they provide open air jeeps to get you to the top of the mountain.
Is your style slightly more contemporary? Kick back in the Tomboy Tavern, where elegant meets eclectic.
This slope-side patio and bar feature a fully remodeled interior boasting wood-plank floors, leather sofas, cozy fireplaces, and a dazzling zinc bar. Sip signature drinks during a cocktail hour for up to 120 people, or enjoy a delicious meal during a reception for up to 75 guests.
With a relaxed vibe, crowd-pleasing food, and serene mountain setting, Tomboy Tavern is the perfect place to toast your love alongside all your loved ones.
For couples seeking smaller Colorado mountain wedding venues, look no further than Alpino Vino. This European-style chalet can hold up to 24 guests, making it ideal for intimate celebrations.
To get to Alpino Vino, ride a snowcoach through pine forests on the winding See Forever ski run. Exchange vows on the secluded deck as the sun sets behind you over Mt. Wilson, and enjoy a prosecco toast before sitting down for an exquisite dinner. The sommelier team will carefully select the finest wines to pair with your northern Italian meal.
Seated atop the Telluride Ski Resort at 12,200 feet, Alpino Vino is one of the most remarkable Colorado mountain wedding venues available. On clear nights, you may even see the stars light up the pristine white snow beneath the deck.

Telluride is one of the best places in the world to celebrate your wedding.
I say that as a photographer who has spent the last 15 years photographing weddings here and as a Telluride Bride, myself.
Between the epic beauty of the San Juan mountains and the irresistible charm of the town of Telluride, it’s hard to imagine a perfect place to celebrate the joy, elegance, and importance of your wedding day.
